shadowandy:
To run as other users, you might wish to toy with /etc/passwd.

Andy,
Mldonkey dies have a 'runasuser'setting, and I have been toying with it. The result is:
I used a user I've created through the configuration tools provided by the manifacturer.
I start MLDonkey. ... wait a little.
the log file reports it is running as the user provided.
The processlist reports no mlnet-process running.
I've toyed around with the groups/users/mode of the mldonkey-directory, it still wont run.'
I am pretty sure it is a right's problem but the logfile does not provide enough feedback to fix it.

I Will let it rest for now since I have a more urgent problem:
I Have suffered a powerfailure and as a result some sectors (nodes) are damaged. I come to this conclussion since the mlnet.log keeps reporting certain downloaded blocks could not be written (always the same blocks) and downloaded files will freeze on the same position everytime during playback.

The big question, how do I repair the filesystem.
Big question split up in smaller questions:
1) running fschk on a mounted fs is dangerous, but I cannot unmount /mnt/HD_a2 because it's busy.
2) At the moment I would be glad wit getting just a repost of the errors, however documentation states that fsck.minix does not support the -N (or -n) option.
3) what is the actual fs-type the DNS-323 uses, or is autodetect fine?
4) Is there a version (or could we make one) of the funplug that checks the filessystem before mounting?
5) I thought about fixing the errors by buying a second drive, copy the data, and reformat the disk. However this would be costly and Some data won't copy because of the errors. I am looking for a more elegant sollution.

I know you are busy, but if you do know an awnser(a Link would be good enough), I would apreciate it very much.

Hi Cipo_Italy!

Thanks for treating me to Starbucks. ;)
Wow, your mldonkey uptime is impressive! I am waiting for new MLDonkey releases to compile and hope they will solve the tracker reporting bug.

MLDonkey for DNS-313

Some users has feedback to me that DNS-313 can also run the MLDonkey compiled for DNS-323 (due to the similar architecture)! MLDonkey would allow your DNS-323, DNS-313, CH3NAS, DNS-312H, etc to use various Peer-to-Peer protocols like Bittorrent, edonke...

karin,

1) I just made a new post regarding this.

2) The real simple edition sets up the necessary files to run the mldonkey. You would still need to configure the ports for use and perhaps do port forwarding on your router (if you have one)

3) You are welcome. :)

well... i copied the file/folders from the 2.9.2 zip file and placed it into the first volume.

1.) http://www.flickr.com/photos/kairin/2162313581/

i have 2 hard disks in the DNS323. how do i get it to download into the second volume? right now the first volume is the bigger hard disk. how do i make sure that files are downloaded into the second hard disk?

2.) http://www.flickr.com/photos/kairin/2163114514/

i merely downloaded the 2.9.2 real simple, and merely unzipped and copied over via "copy & paste"

restart and that's all.

anything else i should configure?

3.) very much appreciate ur assistance. i don't know anything about linux seriously.

ronjon,

Certainly! Different plugin requires different ports to be forwarded on your router. :)
