WiFi access on bus! (2)

    October 30th, 2007

Was traveling to school this afternoon on bus 96 and noticed something different. The mobile TV looks different (it is white now) and the whole interior is plastered with stickers and advertisement of Nokia products. The least thing I expected was free WiFi access on the bus. Yes. On the bus!

Whipped out my trusty N80 and searched for network. Linksys popped up.The signal is really low, and look dubious. Did another scan and saw NokiaWiFiZone. Woot! Connected to it and clicked through some buttons and I am surfing! Downloaded and read some emails and RSS feeds while traveling to school.

So when is MRT going to have WiFi? Seems like the wish I had a few years ago isn’t that far. At least the WiFi on public transport has materialized.

    2. dakshinamurthysasikumar,

Well, they could just use 3G to hook up to the Internet.
