Spent this afternoon downgrading the X61 to Windows XP from Vista. As I don’t really like junk in the laptop, I installed only those drivers for the hardware. After installing all the drivers through the ThinkVantage System Update, there is still one unknown device!

At first I thought it is the bluetooth device as I had forgotten the laptop comes with bluetooth capabilities. Installed the bluetooth software and drivers. After waiting for a few minutes. The unknown device still remains there. *Dot*

After spending close to half an hour, I figured out that it is Atmel TPM. True enough, the unknown device went away.
