I need help, I brought a 3.5mm jack microphone, it comes with one speaker and looks like a long blue-tooth with a cable. Any way, when I plug the microphone cable to my computer, there's sound but a bit soft. When I plug the microphone cable to my Ipod Touch 2nd gen, the Ipod recognises it as a headphone, not a mic. I still try it with Skype on the Ipod and the microphone isn't picked up.

Ben,

Got mine off dealextreme! From what I understand, the headphones (with control) for iPhone and iPod shuffle (4th Gen) should work too. Just that they are a bit expensive.

I am looking for such a microphone for my ipod touch. I need to make skype calls frequenlty. Quite excited when I read about people doing it on ipod Touch. Unfortunately all stories I read are happening outside Singapore. I tried calling some Apple outlets in Singapore but nobody understand what is "microphone for ipod touch".

Please drop me a line and let me know where to buy it. Thousand thanks.

I actually use Skype frequently on my iPod. I have wifi set up at home, and a big family across the Pacific Ocean - this way, I'm not tied to the computer for talking with them (except if I want to use the webcam, in which case an iPhone doesn't make a difference). I often speak to them while doing house chores and other jobs that don't require my full attention, and my headset is perfect for that.
