DNS-320 – making fun_plug and old packages work (49)

The change in the location of hard disk mounting point in the DNS-320 broke fonz’s fun_plug. fonz’s fun_plug was created to run on earlier D-Link NAS (DNS-313, DNS-323, DNS-343) whose Volume_1 was mounted at /mnt/HD_a2. In DNS-320′s case, Volume_1 was actually mounted on /mnt/HD/HD_a2.

This change in mounting point also broke some of the packages created earlier as rely on /mnt/HD_a2 for storage. Transmission Bittorrent client (transmissionbt) is one of the packages that won’t run on the DNS-320 out of the box.

    D-Link ShareCenter Pulse DNS-320 – Pictures, pictures & more pictures (17)

    November 25th, 2010 | Tags: , , | Posted in Reviews, Tech

D-Link ShareCenter Pulse 2 Bay NAS DNS-320 released at Sitex (November 2010)!

Managed to get my hands on the DNS-320. Speed tests will be conducted later on as the DNS-320 is still formatting the two units of Samsung 2TB F4 drives. Mental note, it formats the Right disk first.

Check out D-Link ShareCenter Pulse DNS-320 deals on Amazon.

    HTC Touch2 Non Camera Review – Finally a smart(er) non-cam phone? (0)

    September 13th, 2010 | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , | Posted in Life, Reviews

If you work in an organization with no image capturing equipment policy, look here! The HTC Touch2 non-camera phone was released recently, adding itself to the list of non-camera smart phones (Nokia E51, Sony Ericsson G700, HTC Snap, Gigabyte Gsmart S1200, etc).

But is the HTC Touch2 non-camera the phone you are waiting for? Or you are hoping that Apple releases iPhone non-camera? Well, while you are waiting for Steve Job to announce it (if iPhone non-camera even exists) and you don’t mind a WinMo (Windows Mobile) phone, probably you can give the HTC Touch2 a try.

Bought the HTC Touch2 non-camera just a while back and been using it for perhaps 2 weeks or so. Let me jot down my review of this phone.

Great camera pouch for S90 (8)

    June 28th, 2010 | Tags: , | Posted in Reviews

The Canon PowerShot S90 camera pouch I bought budgetgadgets.com is fantastic! The S90 is more manageable during outings now. Previously I had to keep the S90 in my bag or pants pocket or even worst – hold in my hands. Now? Just sling it across my body and walk around. 2 free hands and camera within reach to capture that special moment.

The tripod mount at the bottom piece holds the Canon S90 securely to the pouch. So don’t worry about the camera dropping out of the pouch if you decide to lug it around without the top flap. Yes, the top flap is detachable.

You might want to change the strap to some tougher alternatives. The strap that comes with it looks a little flimsy and mine is slightly worn after using it for a while. Overall, it is a good camera pouch! If you decide to get one too, check out the product link: Canon Digital Camera Hard Leather Case Bag Pouch S90. While you are at it, check out other camera bags, cases and straps available at budgetgadgets.
