My family went over to Hong Kong for 5 days and was back a few moment ago. They went over there to shop shop and have fun! But without me. How sad it is to be stuck in Singapore rushing reports and deliverables. *Sigh*
But they didn’t forget me! They bought me some t-shirts, bags and food! Best of all, an Elmo! It is really cute.
The last day of the trip… SIAN
Spent our last day in Hong Kong at Harbour City. More exactly playing Nintendo Wii at Toy ‘R’ Us. Play Wii Sports! Had a go at tennis and baseball. One word – FUN!
Saw a couple of toys I am interested in getting. Remote controlled plane! But was discouraged from buying. Probably I won’t have the time for it, and most probably I would crash it.
Look at LV while we were there. LV is cheaper! Cos the lack of GST. So it isn’t significantly cheaper compared to Singapore. For a SGD$1,600++ bag, it is only SGD$60 cheaper.
Today was a unplanned day. Initially wanted to go over to Macau for a one day tour but we didn’t look up on how to travel within Macau so gave it a miss. Ended up having one day to do some last minute shopping.
Went over to Tsui Hwa outlet at Causeway Bay for breakfast. Took the chance to visit the shopping malls around that area (Times Square). Just another posh looking shopping centre. Skipped the area after a while and went to Yau Ma Tei area to shop around those smaller shopping centres that we missed (In’s House, computer centre). The computer centre here is much more like Sim Lim Square. Bought some cheap PSP accessories – PSP pouch and strap for like SGD$4.
Woke up early to prepare for the magical day at Disneyland Hong Kong! Our next door neighbour checked in last night and they are going to Disneyland as well. The more the merrier right? Went for breakfast together and taught them how to get to Mong Kok MTR.
Made our way to Central MTR to collect our tickets before walking over to the Hong Kong MTR that leads us to Disneyland. The walk is like the line transfer at Dhoby Ghaut station just the it is a few times longer and more travelator to walk on. Finally we reached the empty and spacious station. Made our way to the Disneyland counters to collect our ticket. We had purchased the tickets earlier online and our new friend buy their tickets on the spot. There isn’t any queue. So I guess if I am going there again, I will buy the ticket on the spot instead of purchasing it online as during the trip alot of things can happen. Just imagine that you have bought the ticket and it is raining cats and dogs everyday. Then you have wasted your ticket and you would need to sell the ticket or keep the unused ticket as a souvenier.
It’s Ocean Park day! You shouldn’t miss Ocean Park if it is your first time to Hong Kong. Avoid it on weekends. It is super crowded.
I went there on a weekend and regretted it. Squeezing with people, getting into long queues for rides. Remeber to catch the shows there! Look at all those adorable dolphines and seals perform. You would be able to see pandas after the 1st of July 2007!
