Pulau Tekong
Spent this week at Pulau Tekong. Went there as the course I am attached to is having exercise on the island. Not much changes, same old island. Took the RPL to and fro instead of the usual fastcraft.
Reached the island on Monday (221104) around 1200hrs. Went to the first campsite at Eastern Pier where there is no reception for handphone at all. The only signals I received are Malaysian Telcos. Setup the stuffs and spend the first 2 days at eastern pier. Packing rations early in the morning and the travelling tired most of the support staffs out. Change the support staff site to RPL area on Wednesday. At least there is electricity, no need to use generator. 😀
Well, again send rations into different sites like CCP5, CCP4 and CCP3 without the use of Maps and Compasses. *Krap*. Navigated inside there based on memory of the island we had during our BMT (Basic Millitary Training) and SISPEC (Suffer In Silence Plus Extra Confinements) days. Went back to Whiskey Company and was disappointed that my Section Commanders, Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Commander and OC are not there anymore. Next went to visit my Section Commander, Platoon Sergeant and Platoon Commander at SISPEC Golf. 😀 Glad they are still fine and some actually still remember me.
Had a fun time there with the support staffs except for the bathing issue. There was one night where the instructors went to bath at the BMTC swimming complex while one of the instructors insist we bath at the RPL site where there is no cubicle for bathing. Just a hose attached to a tap. Dang. Sorted things out with him and we got to go to the swimming complex to bath as well. Well that is already 2300hrs. Went to bath in 2 batches, finally by 0045hrs all finished bathing and went to sleep. By 0430hrs, some of us woke up to collect rations and send rations. *bleah* Poor Weisiong and Francis. *loL* I hide in my hammock all the while. Haha..
Exercise was declared cut at 1100hrs and we have to wait for the 1630hrs RPL. What to do? Let the medic practise IV on my arm. *loL*
Nevermind, after much waiting and stoning, the RPL came and we reached the mainland shores at around 1715hrs. Where we moved out in convoys to Seletar Camp to rest for 15 minutes then made our way back to PLC. By the time we reach camp it was around 1830hrs and most of the instructors left already. Left behind are all the support staffs and trainees. *Krap*
Enough of ranting. Bleah
