Typhoon attack
On Friday, a mysterious typhoon hit my signal store. Trainees team equipment became messy and their stores were all over the place. Since they don’t know how to arrange their stuffs in a proper manner and don’t have the habit of reporting to me when all their stores are in. I have to teach them how to do.
Support staffs for the course are rather good, understanding that trainees may be tired after their lectures so we don’t complain much too. But things start to get from bad to worst when trainees took their own sweet time to send in their stores and support staffs waited for them til they miss their meals. And when support staffs decided to go for their meal, some trainees will be down there shouting for us as they want to return stores. Decided to settle everything once and for all, approached the trainee Duty Officer and told him that next time support staff will set the time where all the stores have to be in til they learn it then they are given the choice of time to return their stores.
Was glad that HQ7SIB trainees assist the support staffs in removing stores from tonner, demounting of Vehicle Signal Set when none of us are trained in doing so. Carrying of target boards and generator, clearing of jerry cans, transporting of mountains of combat rations. Just imagine how long will all these take with just 5 support staff. With HQ7SIB help, all the stuffs are cleared in quite a short time.
Oh did I mention for the week all were having outfield and when we reach Coy Line on Friday, all the trainees went to bath while the support staffs are slogging away? One of my medic didn’t get to bath for 5 days. While trainees get to bath on Wednesday night. WTF. Oh ya, support staff also have to help instructors load their comfort items like field beds, microwave oven, water heater and stuff.
