cheap way of protecting your lcd

saw an extreme and cheap way of protecting notebook lcd from dirt and fingerprints. The person telt the whole panel! the flimsy clear plastic you used to wrap your primary school textbooks. Am pretty stunned by the innovative way. Anybody want to do that too?
