Last day of work HP onsite @ Ministry of Manpower

Ended my last day of work at MOM. Mixed feelings, finally no need to wake up early everyday, but then kind of miss all the great people at work. Fun people at work also – Chong Ge, Uncle … The quiet security guy sitting at the back of the office – Daniel Ho. The quiet network guy – Allan Tay. The DBA – Elizabeth. Our jiu xing – Yew Mun (cos every unsolved problems get escalated to him). The one who signs our time sheets – Alvin. The other great people at desktop support – Wang, Reyner, Dave, Sng… My temp supervisor – Ma and colleagues – Wu, Willie, Quek. Ma and Wu going to work together again at their new jobs. Willie’s going for his MBA. Quek – dunno about him.

Working onsite has given me new experience. Kinda like interacting with the users and solving mind boggling problems. Perhaps I am kind of trained-to-solve-my-own-computer-problems type of person ba. So solving computer problems gives me a sense of satisfaction. This work has actually exposed me to different authentication methods used in the real world. Is it called 2-factor authentication? Using the TAL (token assisted login), GEMplus card as well as RSA card whereby users key in their personal pin to generate a one time password with a lifespan.

Going to read up on more stuffs when I am free. So many things to master before jumping into the real working world. Hope I will be well prepared for any work in the future.
