Blank Operator Logo

Last time we used to have blank or customised mobile operator logos in the place of the mobile provider’s. Seems like it became more troublesome with symbian based nokia handphones. The default logo from my mobile provider is super duper ugly. Some white and orange combination with the wordings “1 Life, Live it”. Searched around and found a way to blank off the logo. So in the place of the normal operator logo, it would be an empty space.

Firstly, go over to nologo.sourceforge.net using your PC’s web browser. Follow the instruction on the page and you would see a link like http://nologo.sourceforge.net/jadgen.php?mcc=525 . The link is for Singapore. So surf to your own link using mobilephone’s web browser and you will be prompted to install a java software/midlet.

Secondly, locate the “NO logo” software installed on your mobile and run the program. Input your mobile number then select the mobile operator you are on. Once everything is confirmed, Options -> Ok. Then you will be prompted to send a text message to the number you specified.

Thirdly, wait for the message you have sent. Once received, opened up the message and save the operator logo. It would alert you that you will be overwritting the current logo (yeah, the original colorful one will be gone). After overwritting it, check out your operator logo. It is gone! In its place is a transparent logo.

On my N80, I could disable the blank logo and have the usual text based mobile operator logo. I would just need to toggle the showing of Operator Logo simply by going to Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Standby Mode -> Operator Logo -> On/Off.
