Formatting your Symbian Phone

There are 2 ways (known to me) to format your phone – one that does a “soft” reset that restores your phone to factory settings (removing contact lists, various settings, …) and the other hard reset which removes even applications which you have installed yourself.

“soft” reset method
Simply just punch in the following keys at the main screen – *#7370

hard reset warning: this removes all installed applications
1. Back up the stuffs that you need. Important
2. Switch off your handphone and take out the SIM card.
3. Hold on to the following keys – Green Call Button + * + 3 then power on the handphone. Hold on to the keys until the phone finish booting up.
4. The phone should prompt you for those initial settings like country selection and stuffs.

Disclaimer: I’m not liable for anything that happens to your phone
