EZ-Link Cards – Please be more considerate
Advancement in technology not only bring ease to people, it also cause people to be more lazy. Agree?
In the past, we used to have plastic farecards where we have to slot in to machine inorder to have our fare deducted. With the upgrades of the systems used in the recent years, we have changed to the use of cards where by we just bring it close to the reader to have the fare deducted. No more trying to slot the farecard into the small designated slot and sometimes missing it.
But why do some people like to hide their EZ-Link cards in their big bags? Instead of taking the card out or a wallet containing the card to scan, they place the whole big bag onto the card reader. It will be ok if it is “one shot one kill” kind of thing, but then it is more like trying to use a machine gun to hit a can of coke at 100 metres. Result? A long queue of frustrated users behind the person trying to scan the hidden card. Maybe after 5 to 6 tries, then the person succeed in doing so. It is not as if the person is in some-ulu-pandan-MRT-station-where-only-ghosts-exist. Please be considerate, if you don’t wish to take your card out, at least place it somewhere in the bag where the reader can easily read.
Why do people rush to beat the crowd to reach the MRT gantry, then standing infront of the gantry to search for or take out their EZ-Link card to scan? Blocking other people behind again. If you need to search for the card, get out of the queue and search for it before rejoining the queue.
Please be more considerate to others. Others might not have the time to waste to wait for you.
