Up and running!

A friend ask if I want to toy with a faulty network switch DES-1024D (power unit damaged). Feeling bored so I took it for fun.

Briefly inspected the power unit and found the capacitor suspicious. Added it to my shopping list (for Sim Lim Tower). Grabbed my old rack mountable hub and routed the incompatible power supply to the switch to see if the main component are working. Powers up fine.

Made a trip down to SLT today and grabbed the required component, replaced it and it is working! Cost of the DES-1024D? It cost me 30 cents. *grin*
