Table reserved …
… by a packet of tissue.
Oh my god. Thought stuffs like this would only happen at a hawker centre during lunch time. But apparently, it does happen at fast food (or rather fast sandwich) outlets as well.
It was one of those evenings where I meet up with Serene for a subs at Subway (Selegi Outlet). So we looked for a nice seat (inside the outlet) before I went to get the subs. It’s pretty alright I guess, one of us sits at the table while the other goes to order.
At the Selegi outlet, there are only 3 tables in the air-conditioned area. Since we tooked 1, so there are 2 left. Then a group of students came and took another. So at the tables, there are either bags or a person “reserving” the seat.
There was a couple queuing infront of me. I guess they noticed the crowd, and don’t wish to sit outside. The madam (wanted to use lady but then she isn’t so lady-like) quickly left the queue and place a packet of tissue on the table then coming back to join the queue. I was quite stunned. Hence I was looking at the table. Then of cos, there are people with meals walking to the table with puzzled look. The guy paced to and fro infront of the table and asked his friend if it was taken. The couple act blur. Then the guy who was infront of the table looked at me (must be thinking that I reserved the table with the packet of tissue), I shook my head and pointed to the couple infront of me. The guy gave the couple a disgusted look before moving outside to find seats.
One more thing is that, they take such a long time ordering their sandwiches. So picky.
If I were the guy, most probably I would shove the packet of tissue aside and sit down and eat.
