Hong Kong 2007 – Day 3
It’s Ocean Park day! You shouldn’t miss Ocean Park if it is your first time to Hong Kong. Avoid it on weekends. It is super crowded.
I went there on a weekend and regretted it. Squeezing with people, getting into long queues for rides. Remeber to catch the shows there! Look at all those adorable dolphines and seals perform. You would be able to see pandas after the 1st of July 2007!
Getting to Ocean Park is pretty straight forward. Just travel to Admiralty MTR to get onto Bus Service 629. You can purchase the bus ticket and admission ticket at Admiralty afterwhich you would just hop onto the bus and before you know it, you are at Ocean Park (high land).
Roam around the area, visit some jelly fishes. If you got good cameras, take some pretty shots and send to me. I got a bad camera without options to select shuttle speed and no tripod. The result? A couple of blur pictures.
After the jelly fish session, it is time for some dolphine sessions at the Ocean Threatre! Go in early and you will see some dolphines playing catching in the pool or even trainers preparing for the big show later on. Those dolphines are pretty cute and they can swim upside down! At the side of the pool, there are joint “rooms” to the main pool and they are seperated by a wall with an opening. These openings can be closed by the trainers to prevent the dolphines from getting into or out of these “rooms”. Back to the swimming upside down part, one of the trainers “summoned” them into one of the rooms and they quickly made their way to the room! They entered the “room” by swimming upside down. Wonder did they knock into the walls before. Haha.
We made our way to Ocean Park (low land) after the show. Seems like the only mode of transport between these two points (high land and low land) is the cable car. The view from the cable car is magnificient, but if you got phobia of heights. I guess it will be a terrifying experience. Didn’t take note of the duration of the ride. But I would say that it wasn’t really short. The lowland is mostly entertainment (games, go karts, hotair balloons).
The next thing we did was taking the taxi to Star Ferry Terminal to get onboard the Central – Tsim Sha Tsui route! Nice view of the buildings along the coast. Ended up at Harbour City. It is a long chain of shopping centres connecting the Marco Polo Hotels. Shopped there awhile (nothing interesting) before going over to Causeway Bay for a walk. These two places aren’t exactly near to each other but then if I don’t go there. I might not have the chance to go there again. Visited Winsor House! Supposely a place that is like Sim Lim Square. You can find computer shops on the 10th and 11th floor. They looked more like Funan Centre. Saw DNS-323 on display there. Saw that PSP is cheap down there as well.
Had porridge for dinner at Causeway Bay before making our way back to Hotel.
