Hong Kong – Day 4
Woke up early to prepare for the magical day at Disneyland Hong Kong! Our next door neighbour checked in last night and they are going to Disneyland as well. The more the merrier right? Went for breakfast together and taught them how to get to Mong Kok MTR.
Made our way to Central MTR to collect our tickets before walking over to the Hong Kong MTR that leads us to Disneyland. The walk is like the line transfer at Dhoby Ghaut station just the it is a few times longer and more travelator to walk on. Finally we reached the empty and spacious station. Made our way to the Disneyland counters to collect our ticket. We had purchased the tickets earlier online and our new friend buy their tickets on the spot. There isn’t any queue. So I guess if I am going there again, I will buy the ticket on the spot instead of purchasing it online as during the trip alot of things can happen. Just imagine that you have bought the ticket and it is raining cats and dogs everyday. Then you have wasted your ticket and you would need to sell the ticket or keep the unused ticket as a souvenier.
Went down to the train level and took the train to the Disneyland “interchange” station at Sunny Bay where you change over to Disney train! The windows are in the shape of Mickey’s head, sofa style seats, figurine displays, overhead hand supports/rings shaped like Mickey’s head.
Reached the magical place at around noon. We declared the start of the magical day! Disneyland is not totally for kids. Adults still can go for the threatre shows (musicals, 4D shows). Why 4 dimensional? Because you can smells the stuffs and even get splashed by water when Donald Duck gets naughty in the show. You can also shop in there! Shop for gifts, cute stuffs. Spent quite a bomb there (keychains, musical box, pencils, crayons, rubber stamps, figurines, …). We went in empty handed and came out of the shops carrying 2 big bags. That’s the quantity we bought. Most of the items belongs to Marcus though.
Caught Disney on Parade! It is like Ching Gay! Just that they are more active with dancers dancing on the road infront and behind the decorated trucks which makes it more lifely! Wonder how those people in full costumes survive in the hot sun for the duration of the parade. I am sweating like nobody’s business just by standing there!
Exited Disneyland for City Gate (at Tung Chung) to have our dinner as well as shopping! Most of the shops there have outlets in their shop names. For example – Giodano Outlet, Nike Factory Outlet, Adidas Outlet, Levis Outlet, … So it is a great place to pick up last season’s item at cheap price.
We hurried back to Disneyland to catch the fireworks show! Your Disneyland trip is not considered complete without seeing the firework over the castle! Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Next stop – Lan Kwai Fong. A place buzzling with nightlife. Went for a supper at Tsui Hwa chain of food outlets. Ended our tour of Lan Kwai Fong area with a drink at Baby Buddha. A quiet place but don’t go there in rainy weather because the seats are open air.
