Just read about something interesting on hardwarezone forum regarding the ODEX issue.

Here’s a simple analogy:

You were caught stealing sweets from a shop in earlier in May and the shop owner warned you that if you steal again, he would bring you to the police station.

Being a good boy, you listened to the shop owner. But then the shop owner realized that his sales of the sweets has been bad lately and he bring you to the police station for your stealing in March stating that he already warned you of the consequences if you steal again and you are unrepentant.

What do you think of this?

Apparently, it is happening now. ODEX had warned users who download licensed anime in May and now they are sending letters to anime downloaders for their downloads BEFORE May. It is stated that these downloaders are unrepentant after their initial warnings. Now I am quite puzzled, are the warnings referring to the 1st wave of letter sending in May? Or is the the piece of letter (non lawyer letter) from ODEX forcing you to settle the download problem out-of-court for SGD$3000 to SGD$9000?
