Fantastic Singnet 10mbps speed

Oops. There is sarcasm in the title. Seems like 10mbps service is rather problematic in Singapore. Only a handful of people actually got it to work properly. The rest simply fail to work as it should.

Serene’s Internet connection is provided by Singnet. One of the main (and probably largest) internet service provider in Singapore. Her plan is 10mbps. Yes! 10 megabits per second plan! So how well does her Internet connection fair? Singapore is working towards a Internet Hub!

Well, I am on Singnet 3mbps service though.

Seems like it is not worthwhile to get high end plans from Singnet. Their customer service officers (CSO) push all the faults to the end user. Arrange for a line test? No problem! The technician will come in 1 month time (hopefully). Call up the CSO to arrange for an earlier line test? Sure! Hold on to the telephone for one hour and hope that they don’t drop your call.

Singnet’s customer service is pretty bad in my opinion. They should work on it. Everything (cost of living, etc) is raising exponentially in Singapore, yet pay of the citizens are pretty stagnant and service levels of Singnet dropping drastically. Oh well, just my luck to be in Singapore.
