Michael and May’s house warming party

Went over to Auntie May and Michael’s house warming party/buffet dinner! What a way to celebrate school’s reopening.

Went to Serene’s house at around 3 o’clock to do up some pages of our photo album before going over to Michael and May’s house to play! Technically should be going there to help out a bit but I ended up flipping some books (Yakuza, and one interesting book). Admired Michael’s helicopters for a while before admiring their neat home. It is simple and well renovated+decorated. One of the rooms was knocked off (by the previous owner) and a platform was in its place. It looks like a cosy place to laze around to read some books or watch some movies.

Soon the food came. There is a lot of yummy vegetarian food! Fried rice, curry chicken, oat prawns, curry puffs, dao hu goreng, … and a few more dishes. Vegetarian food are yummy too! What’s left to do is to wait for the crowd to arrive. Mingled around with the kids and played with a small heli (Pico Z), flew it in one of the rooms and the kids were either trying to catch it or avoid it when it flew near their heads.

After a while, they realized that there were insufficient disposable plates, bowls and cups. Not only that, syrup and ice were also low in quantity. Michael and I went out to buy the necessities. I would say that we went out at a bad timing – heavy rain, and it ended quickly. Result? 2 half-drenched man and a soaked Birkenstock. Luckily the pair of Birkenstock is revived by heaps and heaps of serviette.

Their family and friends started to leave and by nine, only a handful of us were left at their place. There are still quite a lot of food left? The couple started to pass everybody some food to bring home. I got some curry puffs and a big bottle of drinks. After the food were “assigned”, we bidded each other good bye and walked back home. So how did nD make his way home? Courtesy of Serene and her mum – they sent me back. Thanks!
