Bangkok – Day 1
Technically, it should be night 1 as we are still around in Singapore during the day. We are taking the evening flight to Bangkok. Reason being that our exams ended on the 6th and 7th of May and we needed time to pack our baggage.
Went over to Serene’s house in the afternoon and Serene’s parents sent us to the airport along with Ying Ying. Met up with Ricky, Ken and Seen Yee at Changi Airport.
As usual, budget flight (JetStar)’s seats are squeezy and I have a little problem with that – I’ve got insufficient room for my legs! I can’t sleep comfortably in the seats. Ended up watching some videos on my PSP. Reached Bangkok after about 2+ hours of flight?
We went up to the departure hall area to catch a cab in order to avoid the crowd. It was amazing how the five of us squeezed into the cab with all our baggage! The long ride was not really comfy as a resuly, however, the ride was interesting with the driver around. After about 360 baht worth of ride, we reached our hotel, Samran Place. I guess it isn’t really well known hence the taxi uncle need to circle around the area to locate it.
The arrangement for the hotel rooms is very weird! Ricky, who is staying alone, has a queen sized bed. On the other hand, we had two single beds! Funny arrangement. Left our baggage in our hotel room and explored the surrounding as well as grab some essentials (bottled water, bread, chewing gums).
In the dark lane beside our hotel, there are those push carts. Well, I guess they are everywhere and they sell mostly food and drinks. Had some street side food and bee hoon soup in one of those shophouses.
Traffic regulations are really terrible! Cars and bikes roamed freely in the tiny lanes. We even saw an elephant walking on the road. Wonder where do they keep the elephant when they are back at home. Do they leash it up?

First night wasn’t really interesting. I think we went back to the hotel at around 1am to unpack and prepare ourselves for the long day tomorrow.
