Upcoming Tech

While our future doesn’t hold any flying cars or robot slaves to do our bidding, the upcoming technological advances are something to look forward to. Bear in mind that the items on this list are still in development or post production. It might take some time before this tech reaches Denmark but it will be worth the wait.

Google Glass

Google has developed glasses that offer augmented reality to its wearer. Theoretically, it will let you view social media feeds, text messages as well as navigate with GPS and take photos. This device is currently available to some developers.

Form 1

This nifty little device is able to print in 3D. You will now be able to render your digital design into something solid and tangible. To be able to create custom designs without having to buy models from manufacturers is something worthy of mention.

Oculus Rift

This product will revolutionize the gaming industry. To be able to view the game from the inside is something the gaming titles have tried to achieve since its conception. While the level of realism is still in its basic form, the Oculus Rift will be the stepping stone for greater things.

Firefox OS

To put it simply, Mozilla has developed an open source OS for mobile phones that will grant the user more freedoms and make changes where the current iOS and Android models restrict you. The good thing about is that developers can freely create web apps without the regulation and requirements set by app stores. It’s currently available on Android compatible phones and are currently garnering good reviews.

Leap Motion

Since the desktop multi touch screens first came out of the market, everyone was thrilled at the concept and technology. Then, they started using it and boy, it was a pain in the ass. As you may have already heard or know, using these touch screens can make your hands very tired. With Leap Motion, you can make hand and finger movements that does most of the navigation. Gamers find it useful when playing lengthy hours of FPS or poker at gaming sites like Partypoker. Poker is popular here in Denmark and the rest of Europe as it is one of the first games to successfully integrate in the internet and on mobile apps as well. New devices are always tested using online poker here in Denmark as it is perfect when performing a full range of action, interacting with other players and betting.

As you may have well noticed, new gadgets coming out are more inclined to be connected to the PC, gaming or smart phones. Instead of looking at flying cars, maybe we should be imagining more along the lines of a dreamworld similar to the matrix.
