The Singapore Airshow is a biennial aerospace event held in Singapore. The aerobatic display features both RSAF Black Knights and ROKAF Black Eagles this time round. The former made a return this year while the latter is an award winning aerobatic team.
RSAF Black Knights
The F-16C Fighting Falcon jets dons a new design with a crescent moon and five stars against its red and white body. The RSAF Black Knight pilots are not full-time performers and continue to hold operational appointments, nonetheless, their tight-formation flying and precise aerial manoeuvres are comparable to those of professional full-time aerobatics team.
ROKAF Black Eagles
Black Eagles from the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) made their Asia Pacific debut in the Singapore Airshow 2014. Donning the design from their award winning shows in Waddington International Airshow and Royal International Air Tattoo from 2012 hosted in the U.K., the Black Eagles is the only team to boast formations composed of eight aircraft built with home-born South Korean technology, the supersonic T-50. The ROKAF Black Eagles pilots have flown their respective ships over the distance of 3000 nautical miles to perform at the Singapore Air Show.
