isaac976,

Having more RAM usually means better multitasking capability - the ability to launch more concurrent applications or more tabs in Google Chrome.

In fact, the effect arising from the lack of RAM is minimised due the SSD. Paging from RAM to SSD is much faster compared to the past (using mechanical drives).

However, paging also means shortening the lifespan of SSD if it happens too frequently. Although SSD are designed to withstand the usual amount of paging activities, it is our preference to avoid premature SSD failure due to overuse.

By the way, most computer stores have the M3 on display. It is actually quite snappy for Web surfing and drama watching!

Ken,

The Surface Pro 4 lasted about 5 hours with random surfing, documents editing and video playback.

I think it can be stretched further if it is set to battery saver mode. I saw the estimated battery life jumped to 9 hours odd.
