The Apple Watch Series 3 is still the best smart watch to go along with the Apple iPhone. It is available in either GPS or GPS + Cellular version. The GPS version was available since 22 September 2017 but the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + LTE Cellular) was only available recently (February 2018) in Singapore. My friend helped me to get the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) 38mm at ¥36,800 (~S$450) from Japan. It is retailing for S$498 in Singapore.
The Apple Watch Series 3 is available in both 38mm and 42mm case sizes. It really boils down to personal preference of a larger or smaller watch.
A note on the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular)
Currently, Singtel is the only mobile carrier (in Singapore) that supports the Apple Watch mobile service. In order for Apple to cover the LTE and UTMS bands used around the world, they made three (3) cellular models. So do take note of this when purchasing the Apple Watch 3 (GPS + Cellular) from other countries. For the record, the cellular models (38mm and 42mm) in Singapore are the same as the ones in Japan, Australia, France, Germany, United Kingdom and Switzerland.
And nope, I did not get the Apple Watch Series 3 for myself. I will not be able to use it because my primary phone is an Android. I got this Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) 38mm in Silver Aluminium Case with Fog Sport Band as a gift for my little sister. It is a great smart watch to go along with her iPhone.
Unboxing the Apple Watch Series 3
I did not expect the packaging of the Apple Watch Series 3 to be this big. I was expecting a package that is probably a third of its size.
After unboxing it and removing the information pack, it finally dawned on me that the intention was to keep the watch strap flat (or straight).
In the package, you will find the following:
- Apple Watch Series 3;
- Magnetic Charging Dock;
- USB power adapter; and
- Information pack.
This Apple Watch Series 3 was brought from Japan so that explains why the USB power adapter is not the standard three-pin Singapore plug.
