Company Navigation Exercise

I am sitting down here in a shared training shed typing this blog entry. I and another platoon mate is mending this Log Point (Lima Papa 1). It acts as a resting point between checkpoints, safety point to report to if they need medical help as well as static water point, 120 litres of water! Muahahaha..

Mending the point can be quite boring and tiring as we are only equipped with a standard 940 communication set without the speaker. Only if they have the speaker then we don’t have to take turn sticking the handset to our ears. Well those who know the set will say, why not turning the squesh mode on, when there is no sound then pick up the handset and listen? Well, problem is there is 2 mobile generators nearby as some group of people setup tentage in the area with computers and projectors.

Nevermind, we bought sandwiches, tibits, ice cream (from the ninja bike), coke (courtesy of ninja bike also). And for dinner we had fried rice (courtesy of 2SG Eugene). *loL*

During the exercise, some people actually say that we are not mending the comms as we cant be contacted. Well, he is driving around using a vehicle comms set with 2 accumulators and super long antenna, whereas mine is just normal battery with 1 normal 7 piece antenna. Kaox, how to fight? His Tx overlaps my Rx, while my Tx cant even reach his Rx. I respond and he cant receive also my problem? Should have ask them to supply 2 940 + Log P. Set it up confirm can reach sia. *hahaha*

The whole thing ended at 2230hr and after cleaning the arms, ended quite late. Almost 1 plus 2 in the morning. *Yawn*
