Blogging, Cafe near my house
Been quite sometime I really sit down infront of the computer and blog about the stuffs that happen around me. Maybe the novelty of blogging was worn off me, or am I getting busier in school each day that I no longer have the energy to blog? Nevermind, here’s another blog entry.
Met up with Serene and Sophia to discuss stuffs about details. At least it somehow started the project and people started working and realise that the deadline is getting closer and closer and undone work are piling up. Ah, how great.
Stayed in school til around late evening before we started to pack up and go home, always wanted to check out the new cafe near my house do dropped by there just now. Small tables, but enough for me to place my laptop and continue to work. No power plugs. How sad, have to rely on the remaining battery juice to complete my work. Oh ya, it is called Licks Cafe or sort. Order a ultimate oreo, an ice blended mixture of chocolate drink with oreo biscuit bits. The drink is pretty so-so. Hey! To my surprise, it came with a complimentary scoop of ice-cream. Chose After Eight, minty chocolate.
To my surprise, people actually visits the shop. There are indoor and outdoor seats. Smokers will love that place as they are smoke and eat at the same time. While I enjoy the music and aircon in the indoor seats. Tried to see if there are hotspot around there. So sad, there aren’t. Or rather those that I found are all encrypted. 4 encrypted APs and 2 APs with SSID broadcast disabled. By looking at the signal strength, there are a few that are pretty close to me (Signal/Noise – -50dBm), but hey it might belong to the residents living in the area. Guess they are just living on top of the shop or perhaps directly opposite.
How I wish I have got a line of sight to the shop so that I can direct a unidirection antenna at the shop, so that I can enjoy web surfing and drinks at the same time. How I wish more coffee cafe provide free internet service, like Pacific Coffee Club. TCC, Coffee Bean and Starbucks are all paid Hotspots. Sad 🙁
