Hong Kong 2007 – Day 1
Was kind of turned off by the agency as they couldn’t secure earlier flights to Hong Kong for us. Ended up catching the 4pm flight to Hong Kong. But then the good thing is – we did online check in so we are able to select the seats we want onboard. We selected seats by the window to look at the clouds!
Reached Singapore Changi Airport at around 2.45pm to check in our luaggage before chilling out at Starbucks. Logged on to internet using my cellphone to bid good bye and confirm some stuffs to be bought (from DFS) on return.
Boarded the plane at around 3.40pm and everything was processed smoothly and soon we were in our squeezy seats. I am too tall for economy seatings of Cathay Airlines. Wanted to catch Ghost Rider on board but I missed it! So heck care, watch variety shows, play PSP and enjoy the scenary outside. Tuning in to the inflight systemt to check the progress of the flight at times as I am pretty anxious to see Hong Kong!
Meals were served halfway through the flight. Yummy! I found it nice though, much better than army food. After the meal is another round of self entertainment. Don’t think otherwise! I meant watching tv, playing PSP and looking at the scenary outside.
The sky started to turn dark soon. Then the announcement came
We are approaching Hong Kong Airport in 25 minutes time. The weather looks fine and the temperature there is ….
Yippe! I am reaching Hong Kong soon!
True enough, I started to notice a land mass with lights. From the top, it looks like lava filled the land. The land below glow with amber tone. The amber lava flows down the slopes and gather at certain places. The view becomes clearer as the plane decends.
Before we know it, people were already getting up and collecting their hand carry items from the cabinate overhead. We followed the crowd to the immigration counters. The place is sure crowded. Collected some maps for tourists before we joined the rest in the queue. Took the chance to log on to the free wireless.
Dumb dumb Andy and Marcus forgot to fill in the immigration card. So ended up filling in the card at the counter. Bought the tourist MTR card before travelling to our hotel. Check in at the hotel at around 10.50pm. Quickly dumped all our stuffs at the room before going over to Ladies’ Market and Sportswear Street for some late night shopping. The streets are crowded with people! The amount of items on display there is simply too much! It is like a huge pasar malam! Rested our legs at Saint Alps Teahouse for some light snacks before going back to hotel.
