Ugreen Nexode 65 W 3-Port PD GaN Fast Charger
Today, the USB Power Delivery (or USB PD) is pretty much the unified charging standard that can be used across USB-C devices – mobile phone, modern laptops, power banks, handheld gaming consoles (e.g., Nintendo Switch), e-readers (e.g., Amazon Kindle Scribe), etc. As for the power (or Watt), 65 W seems to be the sweet spot for a portable USB PD charger. Why so? The laptops I know typically need minimally 45 W for charging and mobile phones love anywhere from 10 to 20 W so 65 W is great to charge both the laptop and mobile phone concurrently. Recently, my two years old Baseus 65 W GaN charger died and I decided to get the Ugreen Nexode 65 W 3-Port PD GaN Fast Charger as replacement from Amazon at S$47.99.

The Ugreen Nexode 65 W 3-Port PD GaN Fast Charger

The Ugreen Nexode GaN Fast Charger can be considered rather compact in size. With its foldable electrical prongs, it reduces the chance of bent pins or even scratches on other stuffs in the bag. The only worry is the longevity of the folding mechanism.

I noticed that the Earth prong/ pin is metal and I hope that the GaN charger is properly grounded. Have you noticed that 2-pins or fake 3-pins USB-C chargers gives you a electrical shock or tangling feeling when you accidentally touch the USB-C cable or the laptop body? That is because the 2-pin or fake 3-pin charger is not grounded and electricity is leaking.
I do not expect myself to be (electrically) shocked by this grounded Ugreen Nexode GaN Fast charger.

In terms of power, the ports can dish out the following power:
- One Port
- USB-C1: PD 65 W
- USB-C2: PD 65 W
- USB-A: QC/FCP 22.5 W
- Two Ports
- USB-C1 & USB-C2: PD 45 W and PD 20 W respectively
- USB-C1 & USB-A: PD 45 W and SCP/QC 18.5 W respectively
- USB-C2 & USB-A: PD 8.5 W and 8.5 W respectively
- Three Ports
- USB-C1: PD 45 W
- USB-C2: PD 8.5 W
- USB-A: 8.5 W
With this, just make sure your power guzzling device is connected to USB-C1. That is often your laptop. My practice is USB-C1 to laptop and USB-C2 to mobile phone.

The Baseus 65 W GaN Fast PD charger is also ungrounded as it is 2-pin.

Conclusion
I’ve not tested the Ugreen Nexode 65 W 3-Port GaN Fast Charger extensively but I didn’t get any electrical shock from it yet. The foldable 3-pin is great as it no longer poke other stuffs in my bag. Being a GaN charger, it is also smaller compared to other non-GaN chargers in terms of size and weight.
If you have a need for a portable GaN charger, perhaps you can consider the Ugreen Nexode 65 W 3-Port PD GaN Fast Charger too.
