USB-C is fast becoming the de facto connector standard for charging mobile and computing devices. My Microsoft Surface Go uses it, OnePlus 6 uses it, Apple MacBook Pro uses it, Nintendo Switch uses it. Hence, getting a good USB-C power adapter or charger seems to be the wisest move. Chanced upon the Xiaomi 45W USB-C power adapter and got it for S$24.47. Considering that the Apple 30W USB-C adapter sells for S$65, the Xiaomi USB-C adapter is a steal.

One of the qualms about Nintendo Switch is that it does not work with Bluetooth headphones/ earphones. With wired earbuds, it often leads to nuisance like tugging the earbuds out of the ears or accidents like pulling the Nintendo Switch off the table top. All these can be avoided if the audio can be wirelessly delivered. Hence, products like Genki and Reiyin WT-04 enable Bluetooth audio for the Nintendo Switch. The Sony WH-1000XM3 is my first pair of noise-canceling audio cans. I chose this over the Bose QC3 because I find it handling the balance between sound quality and noise-canceling better. The Nintendo Switch’s kickstand is a nice touch. It allows the Nintendo Switch to stand on its own on a flat surface during a round of Overcooked! or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The problem is that the tilt is not adjustable, obstructed charging port and neck strains. The HORI Compact Playstand allows the Nintendo Switch to be tilted at multiple angles while being charged. I got the HORI Compact Playstand for ￥1,086 (approximately S$13.50).

The Xiaomi Mi Router 3 is a dual-band 802.11ac wireless router. It looks stylish and have decent build quality. The Xiaomi Mi Router 3 is a AC1200 router capable of wireless speeds up to 300Mbps and 866Mbps on the 2.4GHz and 5Ghz spectrum respectively but it’s 10/100 WAN port might be a bottleneck for broadband plans exceeding 100Mbps. All in all, the Mi Router 3 is an affordable no-frills router for wireless Internet access. I got it for S$35 from Qoo10 to replace a failing ASUS RT-N56U.
