Yootech LX6 Wireless Charger

I got the Google Pixel 5 recently and was excited to try wireless charging but I am not willing to fork out S$119 for the Google Pixel Stand. I tried out the Xiaomi 7.5W Wireless Charging Pad that I have and the Google Pixel 5 measured 700 mA charging speed on the Ampere app which is way too slow. I did a search and owners of previous Pixel phones have varying success with Yootech wireless chargers. Hence, I decided to try out the Yootech LX6 Metal Wireless Charger and I pleasantly surprised by that Ampere measured faster wireless charging on the Google Pixel 5 with the Yootech LX6 15W Metal Wireless Charger.

Turning the Xiaomi Air Purifier 3H into a Fan

The Xiaomi Air Purifier 3H is an inexpensive air purifier that works great. My only complain about it is that the output (air) is not directional like the air purifiers I have from Samsung and Sharp which I prefer as I can direct the filtered air at location where there are more human activities/ presences. I happened to chance upon a contraption that turns the Xiaomi Air Purifier into a louver fan which channels filtered air to places I want it to be.

Ring Video Doorbell 2 Review – Upgrading your old doorbell to a smarter one

Considering that how infrequently I change flat batteries in my doorbell, I did not even once think that I will ever get a smart video doorbell. So why did I get it? USB-C is fast becoming the de facto connector standard for charging mobile and computing devices. My Microsoft Surface Go uses it, OnePlus 6 uses it, Apple MacBook Pro uses it, Nintendo Switch uses it. Hence, getting a good USB-C power adapter or charger seems to be the wisest move. Chanced upon the Xiaomi 45W USB-C power adapter and got it for S$24.47. Considering that the Apple 30W USB-C adapter sells for S$65, the Xiaomi USB-C adapter is a steal.

The Xiaomi Mi Router 3 is a dual-band 802.11ac wireless router. It looks stylish and have decent build quality. The Xiaomi Mi Router 3 is a AC1200 router capable of wireless speeds up to 300Mbps and 866Mbps on the 2.4GHz and 5Ghz spectrum respectively but it’s 10/100 WAN port might be a bottleneck for broadband plans exceeding 100Mbps. All in all, the Mi Router 3 is an affordable no-frills router for wireless Internet access. I got it for S$35 from Qoo10 to replace a failing ASUS RT-N56U.
